Position Title: TWC Video Archival Project Volunteer

Committee: TWC

Reports to: TWC Editor

Time Requirements: Continuous availability to answer email, 1-2 hours per week

Term: Duration of project estimated to be 1 year, with option to renew

Role overview: The TWC Video Archival Project Volunteer helps preserve TWC’s multimedia content by locating and restoring missing videos from past issues.

Date of position description review: Initially 7-8-26, then review will take place annually

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteers work at their own pace on their own schedule to:

• Review articles to identify missing video content
• Contact authors to recover lost materials or gather descriptions
• Upload recovered content to Critical Commons and coordinate republication
• Maintain shared tracking documentation with the rest of the Video Archival Project volunteer team and TWC Editor

Experience:

• No experience is necessary. Volunteers will be trained on related tools.

Skills and attributes:

• Interest in digital archival work and media preservation
• Strong communication skills for author outreach and coordination with the TWC editorial team
• Patience and persistence (some articles were published years ago!)
• Ability to work independently on a long-term project

Training requirements:

• Volunteers will be trained on specific tools used by TWC committee as needed.
