Position Title: Board Assistants Team Documentation Expert

Committee/Workgroup: Board Assistants Team (BAT) Committee

Reports to: Board Assistants Team Chairs

Time Requirements: 1 – 5 hours/week minimum

  • Former Board members whose term ended less than 2 years ago

  • Elections Voting Process Architects


  • Must have been an OTW volunteer for at least six months
  • Must be willing to agree to a confidentiality agreement
  • Must be willing to agree to a conflict of interest policy

Term: 1 year

Role overview: BAT Documentation Experts create and review internal OTW documentation to ensure internal wiki content remains current and to prevent the loss of institutional knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and maintain BAT documentation.
  • Help write, review, and maintain internal Board documentation.
  • Select and work on tasks in accordance with committee workflow.
  • Assist other committees with their internal documentation at the committee’s request.
  • Participate in conducting an Org-wide internal documentation review.
  • Participate in Team meetings & check-ins.

  • Knowledge of writing accessible content is helpful.


  • No specific experience is required.
  • Experience with any of the following is beneficial: Copy editing, writing & documentation, minute-taking, and process documentation.

Training Requirements: BAT volunteers will be trained in all required tools, skills, and tasks as detailed on the BAT Volunteer Training Plan.
