Position Title: Finance Committee Bookkeeper

Time Requirements: Approx. 3-5 hours a week.

Term: 1 year

Role overview: Finance Committee Bookkeepers help the committee by recording OTW’s financial transactions in our Accounting Software. They communicate with OTW volunteers about expenses, examining, and verifying invoices and receipts and collaborate with other Finance Committee volunteers to ensure proper entry into the appropriate accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Records OTW’s financial transactions in our Accounting Software
  • Collaborates with other Finance volunteers to carry out tasks and projects
  • Communicates with OTW volunteers about expenses, examining, and verifying invoices and receipts
  • Attends regular meetings and participates in committee discussions via email and chat

Experience:

  • Knowledge of accounting theory and workflows required
  • Previous professional experience in bookkeeping/accounting required
  • Knowledge of US accounting practices, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preferred
  • Experience with Quickbooks or other accounting systems preferred
  • CPA license or other related finance licenses a bonus (not required)
