The OTW Board of Directors, often called the OTW Board or simply Board, is the governing body which is responsible for leading the entire organization. Their role encompasses many tasks, including supporting and overseeing all committees, handling compliance, defining big-picture goals and ensuring that the entire OTW is working toward them, and approving major decisions and changes within the organization. Some specific decisions that they oversee include:

• Expense requests over US$5,000
• Establishing and dissolving committees, subcommittees, and workgroups
• Approval of new committee chairs and subcommittee leads
• Removal of Board Directors, committee chairs, and subcommittee leads, if necessary
• Changes to OTW policies, including the OTW Bylaws
• Formal statements on behalf of the OTW (including authorizing participation in amicus briefs or other governmental filings)
